Life Transitions. They happen to all of us.

Individual therapy can provide you with a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences regarding:

Life is full of ups and downs, and it's completely normal to feel overwhelmed or unsure at times. You are not alone. My hope for you in therapy is to gain the self confidence and self esteem to move forward with grace and resilience to live a more fulfilling life.

Therapy for medical trauma

Navigating a health care system can be tough. Especially if you just moved to a new area, or have a new medical issue that requires expertise in a new area. Or you just received a new diagnosis and you're not sure what this means for you and your family. It is scary with a lot of uncertainty.

Medical trauma doesn't necessarily mean medical malpractice. It means that your reaction to a new diagnosis, surgery, new medications, or anything else as it relates to your physical health is causing you distress, discomfort and probably a dose of fear.

Experiencing a medical trauma doesn't mean you have Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder but it could mean you need a little (or a lot!) of extra support surrounding the issue. Having spent 21 years at the Veterans Administration, as well as in my own life, I can assure you I've seen a lot. And photos of broken bones or surgery scars don't gross me out!

Let me help you through the situation so you can handle it with a lot more knowledge and confidence.

Therapy in the short term


Let’s get down to business with short term brief therapy.

You just want someone to help you address your issue now. You don’t want to wait. You’re busy with life and don’t want to delve into your past just yet. Let’s get down to business. Solution-focused therapy (also known as short term brief therapy) usually starts with me asking you “what if a miracle occurred overnight and your life changed? What would your life look like now?” Or “assume your problem has been solved? What does your life look like now?”

With some guidance from me, we will work together to meet your identified goal as soon as we can. No forcing you into therapy for months and months if you are not ready.

Life can be beautiful but it can also be very challenging. I get it, I have a life too!
